What you can expect from the job: 

You will be a part of our Data Management and Monitoring team (DMM). DMM is at the foundation of everything that we do. In our managed services strategic offering, meticulous data collection is the key to success. It consists of the following high level blocks: 

• Data collection
• Data parsing
• Data reduction
• Data normalisation
• Integration and optimization of data flows between on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.

DMM feeds our security intelligence teams with the value to run their services. 

Key activities of the Data Management Team (DMM) are: 

• Normalisation of customer data based on data models.
• Develop self monitoring capabilities to ensure data availability & completeness.
• Design & implementation of data pipelines for data parsing & routing purposes.
• Third party technology research for data collection purposes.
• Handling of a wide variety of data formats being log, metrics & traces.
• Design & implementation of distributed data collection architecture
• Collaboration with infrastructure and security teams to ensure data integrity, compliance, and secure transmission.
• Evaluation and implementation of new technologies for streaming, message queuing, and data transformation.
• Incident handling, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of data collection services.
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices for data management.

Is it me you're looking for? 

• You are passionate about data, and preferably have +3 years of professional experience.
• You have a strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT (a degree is an asset).
• You are familiar with modern software engineering best practices (code review, source control, testing, branching,...)
• Knowledge of security intelligence technologies is an asset.
• Knowledge of data management tools (Cribl, python, syslog...) is an asset
• You communicate in Dutch and English (both written and oral).
• You are a good communicator and enjoy working together in a scrum based mode with your team.
• You are a problem solver with an analytical mind. As a team player with a positive attitude, you are always ready to challenge and to be challenged.
